Blue Socks Records
Blue Socks Records is a label that I have been releasing music under since 2020. At first it was just there because I had to fill in the "record label" section to release music to streaming services, but in 2021 I decided to make the brand official and created Blue Socks Records. I am hoping to build this into a successful project in the future.
The Story of the Name
Back in 2016, in the second term of my first year of high school in Turkey, I met with a few of my classmates. In classic Umut fashion, I hadn't realized that I didn't have any clean socks to wear, at least not ones that were normal-coloured. The only pair of socks I had were neon blue, so I wore them inside black Vans shoes and under black denim pants. Unsurprisingly, my feet were like a neon sign for the whole day.
I started using "Blue Socks With Black Shoes" as a nickname online, and then when I was preparing As It Fell for release, I decided that it would work really well as a simple, odd, but catchy name for a record label. Now it's here to stay, and I look forward to how far I can get with it.
